Staging Nukes for Iran?

Mushroom CloudMushroom CloudStaging Nukes for Iran?

By Larry Johnson on Sep 5, 2007 - noquarterusa.net

Why the hubbub over a B-52 taking off from a B-52 base in Minot, North Dakota and subsequently landing at a B-52 base in Barksdale, Louisiana? That’s like getting excited if you see a postal worker in uniform walking out of a post office. And how does someone watching a B-52 land identify the cruise missiles as nukes? It just does not make sense.

Brian Baird forced to listen to the voice of the people

Recently returned from Iraq, U.S. Rep. Brian Baird got an earful Monday night from angry war foes who jammed a town hall meeting.

The Washington Democrat, who voted against the Iraq war resolution in 2002, now opposes a timeline for withdrawal of U.S. troops from that country.

Aaron Russo, award winning director of America: Freedom to Fascism, lost his long battle with cancer in the early morning hours of August 24, 2007. He was a TRUE patriot.

I was fortunate enough to conduct one of the last in-depth interviews with Aaron in February of this year. You can listen to it here.

Not that they're worried or anything. But the White House evidently leaves little to chance when it comes to protests within eyesight of the president. As in, it doesn't want any.

Reluctant soldier faces misdemeanor charges for paying $500 to be shot

NEW YORK (AP) — A soldier who admitted paying someone $500 to shoot him in the leg so he could avoid another tour of duty in Iraq won't face felony charges, though his wife and the gunman were indicted by a grand jury.

"I was hoping for the best, but preparing myself for the worst," said Army Pvt. Jonathan Aponte, 21. "I went into the grand jury and told the truth, and I think they had sympathy for me."

Melvin Hernandez, a spokesman for the Bronx District Attorney's Office, said Wednesday that he could not comment on the grand jury decision.

Iran Ties Weaken Government Further

BAGHDAD, Aug 13 (IPS) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's increasing ties with Iran have triggered a splintering of his government.

Several groups, both Sunni and Shia, have followed the Sunni al-Tawafuq bloc (Iraqi Accord Front) in quitting the U.S.-backed government. But Maliki refuses to make the concessions necessary to bring his "unity" government back together.

Spokesman Iyad Jamaliddin said on behalf of the Iraqi National List led by former interim prime minister Iyad Allawi that the ministers of his group would now boycott government meetings. The party claims both Shia and Sunni following.
