John Lennon would have turned 67 years old last week had he not been murdered in 1980, at the age of 40, by a mentally disturbed fan. On his birthday, Oct. 9, his widow, peace activist and artist Yoko Ono, realized a dream they shared. In Iceland, she inaugurated the Imagine Peace Tower, a pillar of light emerging from a wishing well, surrounded on the ground by the phrase “Imagine Peace” in 24 languages.

What's Bagism?
What's Bagism?
On the 14th June 1969, John and Yoko were guests on 'The
John Lennon & Yoko Ono 1969 interview by David Frostshow’ filmed in London (in colour) for broadcast to the United States, John began by giving Frost “a box of smile“, a small box which contained nothing but a mirror at the bottom, get it? The audience appreciated it, as did Frost, although he was clearly perplexed by John and Yoko’s new concept - Bagism...
Frost : .....There’s that sweet card you sent the other day that I need an explanation for....
John : Do you really need all these explanations?, (to audience) I thought he was clever!
