Mia Farrow in DarfurMia Farrow in DarfurOn Day 12 of her hunger strike, Mia Farrow's health has severly deteriorated. Her doctor has asked her to stop fasting immediately. Sir Richard Branson was asked by Mia to take over this coming Monday after Mother's Day, but he has now asked her to stop.

"I'm honoured to be taking over the fast for the next three days from Mia Farrow in her courageous stance to support the people of Darfur."

Sir Branson has already begun his three-day water-only fast to continue to ask world leaders to take immediate action and demand that international aid is restored.

Branson visited Darfur over a year and half ago, and was horrified by the stories and unimaginable conditions. "I was humbled and inspired by the courage of the Darfuri people and the commitment of the aid organisations that were working on the frontlines."

Please consider joining Darfur Fast for Life as hundreds around the world continue our commitment to work for peace and justice in Darfur and Sudan.

As the government of Sudan, led by an indicted war criminal, starves it's own citizens, it is imperative that world citizens ACT.

Our mission statement:

We fast for Darfur's courageous people -because we yearn for a world where human rights are respected and a life of dignity is the legacy for every man, woman and child.

Sincerely,

Gabriel and the SGN team
